After a 18-year hiatus from painting—years spent immersed in technical training as an architect and graphic designer—I felt my creativity tethered to a need for precision and perfection. My art had become tied to realism, relevance, and recognizable forms, leaving me disconnected from the joy of true expression. Then came a pivotal moment of clarity—a push to let go of control and stop asking "what am I painting?" It was in releasing that question that I discovered the liberating power of self-expression.
Music became my sanctuary, an environmental influence that guided me to a space of solitude and self-worth. My journey into abstract expressionism emerged not from structured direction but from the absence of it. In that freedom, I unearthed a sense of trust in the creative process—a trust that viewers too can embrace. Often, I paint by candlelight, the flickering glow allowing intuition and instinct to shape the work while minimizing unnecessary details.
"I Will Be Here" invites viewers to share in this liberation. It’s not just a piece of art—it’s a conversation about letting go, about embracing imperfection and trusting in the creative flow. Just as I rediscovered my own essence through this journey, I hope this work inspires others to reconnect with their own creativity, to trust their instincts, and to embrace the beautiful unpredictability of life itself. This painting is a reminder that by surrendering control, we open ourselves to growth, meaning, and light.
